Emptiness

Emptiness:

In Greek: adeios empty (from “an” without + “deios” fear), literally “freedom from fear”.

In many languages being empty meant or still bears a meaning of being unmarried of unoccupied:

English: c. 1200, from Old English æmettig, of persons, “at leisure, not occupied; unmarried” (senses now obsolete), also, of receptacles, “containing nothing,” of places, “unoccupied,” from æmetta “leisure.”

Russian: пустая — безмужняя или оставленная мужем (pertaining to women: unmarried or left by husband)

Azerbaijani: boş (empty) — boşanmaq (to divorce)
